ILS_VR17 Innovative Learning Spaces is a scientific school organized by DADU(Department of Architecture, Design and Planning, University of Sassari within the SPIN-APP project); Innovative Spaces for Learning (Regional Law n.7, "Promotion of scientific research and technological innovation in Sardinia"), in collaboration with the National Institute of Nuclear Physics (Frascati), with the contribution of Sardegna Ricerche under the project Scientific School 2015.

After the success of its first edition, ILS VR17 presents a new interdisciplinary workshop about learning spaces according to the idea that the school buildings are not the exclusively places for learning but that the whole city can be read as an urban learning platform, a place for incentivize the knowledge process. In this context, the new technologies and the tools for the Augmented Reality contribute to the enhancement of the active and didactic role of urban environments.

ILS_ VR17 will explore these concepts within the workshop where experts, students and professionals will develop new ideas and design proposals based on interdisciplinary principles. The aim is to promote a high-value scientific and educational initiative able to open a rich dialogue between the virtual environment developers and the space designers fostering the reciprocal contamination between the two sectors.
